Top Navigation and Maps Apps in Nigeria: Q4 2024 Performance

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Google Maps experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 14.7K and peaking at 55.6K by the end of December. Weekly active users initially declined from 20.6M to 19.3M but rebounded to close the quarter at approximately 20.8M.

The Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer app saw fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at 11K, dipping to 5.1K mid-quarter, and ending at 5.1K. Active users followed a similar pattern, beginning at 6.9K and fluctuating slightly throughout the quarter.

Muslim Prayer - Qibla Compass showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a high of 6.5K in late November. Active users also rose from 7.8K to 12.4K in mid-December, with revenue peaking at $11 in November.

The Voice GPS & Driving Direction app had a consistent growth in downloads, starting at 1.7K and increasing to 8.2K by the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, rising from 1.3K to 3.1K.

Finally, Live Street View - Earth Map showed a spike in downloads in early December at 8.4K, before dropping to 532 by the end of the month. Active users increased significantly mid-quarter, peaking at 16.4K.
